5 Best and Closest Apartments to BYU Campus

One of the biggest factors we’ve found that influences a student’s choice in housing is how close it is to their campus. We expect no less from students living in Provo Utah. Good apartments near BYU can be hard to find.

So we thought we’d make your decisions easier by rating the best apartments that are also all less than 15 minutes walking to campus.

Starting with the farthest:

#5. Raintree

Distance (walking): 0.6mi (13 mins) | Overall: 4.1 | Price: $530

Raintree has got to be included in our highest quality apartments. Why? 3 things: Social scene, management, and price. With all of the apartments surrounded by trees to give an oian-air feel, it provides a welcoming atmosphere for everyone to get involved in activities–no crazy parties; just fun, chill vibes. One tenant said it best:

Raintree holds events to get to know your neighbors! Back to school parties, Fall activities, Christmas parties, winter polar plunge, and more. It’s nice to have doors outside so that you can say hello to neighbors as you pass by.

Now on to the Management. If you read their reviews, you’ll see that they are filled with compliments on the responsiveness and friendliness of the management — a rarity in the Provo housing market. They are quick to address fixes, are incredibly responsive, and, because Raintree is a smaller complex, they are personable.

Let’s talk price–only $530? No wonder people are loving it here. Not to mention, Raintree has slashed rates for Spring and Summer leases–so if you sign a Spring and Summer contract, you’re only paying $200 a month! And even though the quality may not be 5-star, tenants agree:

Clean apartments, good space. Just renovated.

So, if you’re looking for a cheap, social environment where you’ll get taken care of at a walkable location from BYU, Cinnamon Tree is our #1 recommendation.

#4. Liberty Square & Liberty on Freedom

Distance (walking): 0.5mi (11 mins) | Overall: 3.7 | Price: LS $495 & LF $530

These apartments are the twins of Provo. They share a lot of the same qualities: same distance away from BYU campus (Only 11 minutes walking!), same overall rating score, and intermingle the social circle from both complexes. Which is why so many students love both Liberty apartments:

I have lived at liberty square the past two years and have loved it!

&

Liberty on freedom is THE best! It’s such a great and fun place to live!!

Let’s talk about the location! 11 minutes south of campus, close enough to Walmart, awesome restaurants in downtown Provo, AND access to UVX bus stops? What else could you possibly need? How about a fire social scene!

Management does a great job getting you involved with being social here, getting to know more people just socializing in general.

Because both of the Liberty apartments have the same management, you can expect the same high standards for both. Not to mention how awesome the individual apartments are. They have in-unit washers and dryers, as well as all kitchen appliances. And the floor plans are very open and accommodating for bigger friend groups. The only difference between the two is pricing.

#3. Alpine Village

Distance (walking): 0.5mi (11mins) | Overall: 3.7 | Price: $610

Alpine Village is one of the most well-known destinations for students in the entire Provo and Orem area. And with a 3.7 quality rating and only an 11-minute walk to BYU campus, it’s no wonder the Village makes the top 7 list for best places in Provo for students:

I have really loved living here the wards are amazing and there has been a lot of social activities.

Beyond the high quality and good location of their apartments, Alpine Village thrives under its popping social scene. With a central courtyard in between the main buildings of Alpine Village, it makes it feel like a community and encourages a lot of social activities to happen. It’s a big complex, too, so things are always happening in the courtyard and throughout the big, open hallways of the buildings. One tenant was to the point:

My time at alpine village was AMAZING! Super social and so much fun!

Additionally the management is really everything you’d want it to be: responsive and helpful. And let’s not forget–PRIVATE ROOMS! In-unit washer and dryer! Garage parking! Fitness center! Pool and hot tub! Alpine village has everything you’d need to have a great college experience.

#1. Glenwood

Distance (walking): 0.3mi (7mins) | Overall: 3.7 | Price: $495

Glenwood’s reputation speaks for itself. Ask anyone who lives in Provo what the most social complex is in Provo and Glenwood will undoubtedly come up in conversation (and their 300 supporting reviews don’t lie).

As said before, the social aspect of the complex drives a lot of buzz about Glenwood in the Provo area. It’s no surprise why either, with huge grass lawns for spike ball or outdoor games, a full sand volleyball court for play, a basketball court, and a pool and hot tub all to facilitate fun all the time, it’s a standard hangout spot even if you don’t live there–so get ready to meet lots of fun, new people!

Not to mention every unit has great amenities such as a dishwasher, laundry facilities, high-speed internet, and full sized refrigerator.

The location is also a major plus. Frequent stops from the UVX bus help students get to campus on time without having to pay cent. The couple-minute walk from, popular food stops, and access to BYU’s track also contribute to Glenwood’s prime location.

The management team at Glenwood is also incredible. Here’s what their tenants have to say about them:

Yes! Whenever we had a property issue and requested help, it was fixed fast.

And…

Super helpful management and honestly best I have seen.
