If you are sifting through Google reviews to find desirable student housing and are considering the refurbished Rockland Apartments, here are the facts about the complex as I have experienced them during my stay here in Winter Semester 2023. Amenities: Treadmill was broken for the entirety of the semester. Dumbbell weight

set is solid, if somewhat limited. The pool table was broken for the majority of the semester. I have not tried the pool or hot tub. You can take a look for yourself and consider whether you would use them. Final Clean Check: (Check the images for the Job #2 list.) If you don't fulfill a single task you will be fined approximately $650. This is about half the contract's original price. ($1350ish) There is a pre check where cleaning crews come through and point out what you need to clean. However, there is no guarantee that the pre-checkers version of "clean" is the same as the managers. You must return your key and sign an agreement upon check out that you agree to the terms of the clean check operations or management will confiscate your deposit and fine you. You must check out in person or again you forfeit your deposit and will be fined. Rooms: Carpets look and felt extremely aged and frayed. I recommend getting a carpet for your room and your living room if you like to spread out on the floor. One desk to two people. Ample space for storage. Ethernet port. Light bulbs were extremely white, so I replaced them for a softer yellow. Laundry: Check the pictures. In summation, 1 load a week will cost $30. Parking: Extra fee for a parking pass. The parking is not covered. During winter semester, residents will randomly receive notices that cleaners will come and remove ice. Watch your door for these or you will be toed. Kitchen: Burners would randomly turn off during cooking. Microwave worked perfectly. Dishwasher cleaned things for the most part, if you are okay with some hard water build up and calcification. I cook tea and I would have to clean my kettle with white vinegar each time I used it because there was some much calcification. I eventually stopped using it for the hassle. Oven, sink, fridge, freezer, pantries, and garbage disposal all work perfectly. Living Room: The living room is about 18x23x9 (I'm only eyeballing it however) which is plenty. The tv by comparison is 55 inches. The sectional is comfortable and easy to clean. Eye strain is required at times if you play video games on the tv (small HUD information is quite small from 13ish feet away on a 55 inch screen). Vanity: I wish I had changed the bulbs to a more amber color but I couldn't find the lightbulbs at Walmart. The calking in the marble seams of the counter and the floorboards is spotty and colored, standing out like a sore thumb under the harsh white LEDs. Personal Opinion: I have relayed the facts of my residence in Rockland apartments and here is my personal conclusion concerning its quality; it is just my opinion, do with it as you will. Rockland Apartments, compared to other men's apartment contracts, is not a competitive apartment complex because the amenities, clean check procedures, interior, kitchen, and laundry facilities are inferior. For example, how does Rockland compare to The Roost? If you buy a singles contract at The Roost you will pay about the exact same price as Rockland ($1450) and if you get your security deposit back ($400), you will pay less than Rockland's $1350ish. This includes an indoor washer/dryer, and sleek apartment finishes/designs (check their website for comparisons, Marriot vs. Motel 6 anyone?). It is nearly the exact same distance from BYUI's campus. It has a reputation as being highly reputable with a solid management. It's amenities are consistently well-maintained. The Lodge, Northpoint, and the Cedar's are also, in my opinion, higher quality residential experiences for a slightly higher price. Rockland is not a quality residential experience compared to housing complexes in its price range. I cannot recommend anything but buying a contract elsewhere.

This place was old and the amenities are horribly kept. Where to even start… The washing machines were always covered with old and crusty washing scum. Nothing was ever cleaned all semester. I swept and cleaned all the machines and will post the proof. The scrub sink was also broken and

had water sitting in it all semester. The tub water was putrid the majority of the semester. Was visibly green often and smelled awful. My apartment was leaking water from upstairs into our apartment through a windowsill. It was rancid water. Smelled like piss. Was never addressed. Even when we reported it 3 times. There was also no way to reach the manager. Still haven’t received my security deposit even though I passed my clean checks. So, not a great place.

I'm happy to say that they have been improving the management over the semesters that I've been here. It is definitely one of the better "economic" options available in rexburg. My biggest qualm with this place that I am BEGGING rexburg housing/red stone/whatever is to CHANGE THE DRYERS either stop

contracting w whoever you are or tell them to get different dryers because out of the 5 semesters I had lived there I never had ONE dry load of clothes no matter how many cycles I ran. Mildly infuriating. Also no AC but that's pretty typical w these older complexes so I can't really come at them for that.

I am currently living at rockland, and while I have not had too many issues with management and all that, (they have been pretty nice, but I mean literally all apartment managers are.) A lot is broken. I mean we are looking at faulty fridges that have had leaking issues,

broken microwaves that will roast one side of your meal while leaving the other side frozen, a toilet seat that will not stay up >.>, the parking lot... destroyed... Like I have hit the bottom of my car twice running into the potholes. the pool and some of the amenities, run down And not working at all. And a few other things that have been... annoying. defiantly not the worth the price you pay. And I do feel strongly that upper management needs to lower there prices or fix these problems.

The management is really good and friendly. The apartments are well maintained and close to campus. There are a few good amenities, a pool, rec room, etc. My only issue so far is that sometimes maintenance requests can take a few day, but they do a good job once it

gets done, not a real big issue as it may just take them that long to complete other tasks and get to yours.

Not my crowd, Good maintenance, Nothing to write home about
It’s been alright so far. The apartment doesn’t give too many social opportunities throughout the semester. Good amenities but the quality of the apartments are mediocre. Management is slowly improving but for now is decent.
