trash chutes are still non-functional, which is unacceptable for a seven-story building. The pool and hot tub were closed for two weeks during move-in, and while they are now open, the heaters haven’t even been installed yet. Their website is misleading too — the marketing photos show hammocks, fake grass, and cabanas by the pool, none of which actually exist. Security is a serious concern. Anyone can walk into the building without any checks, and the apartments feel completely unsecured. They’ve also installed the cheapest appliances possible, and the walls are so thin you can hear everything. To top it off, my daughter and her roommates received an email about a noise complaint for music supposedly played in the morning, even though her nor her roommates don't play music in the morning. The email came with a $50 fine threat, yet they didn’t even bother investigating the issue properly. The WiFi here is unreliable, which poses a significant problem for students who depend on it for their studies. To make matters worse, the property is managed by college students with no clear way to escalate concerns to higher management. Unfortunately, The Standard falls far short of its promises and expectations, leaving residents feeling like no one really cares. The company behind the building seems more focused on locking students into expensive leases than delivering on the services they market. Instead of addressing ongoing issues, they’re pressuring current residents to sign new leases for next year. Even worse, the photos advertised on their website are misleading—what was promised is far from the reality students experience after moving in. The photos attached is what students were promised when signing leases. These are fake, it is no where near this nice. Landscaping isn't even complete and looks awful.
see moreHis knowledge about the facilities and amenities was impressive, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly and provided valuable insights into what makes The Standard a standout choice for student living. The amenities at The Standard are top-notch. The fitness center is state-of-the-art, and the study areas are quiet and well-equipped, perfect for focused study sessions. If you are looking for the best student housing in Eugene, I highly recommend checking out The Standard and asking for Luke to show you around. You won't be disappointed!
see moreconstruction crews were done. It's been over a month since students moved in, and the trash chutes are still non-functional, which means that have to walk their trash outside and around the corner to a dumpster. This is unacceptable since their rent is supposed to include trash service. The pool and hot tub were closed for two weeks during move-in, and while they are open now the heaters haven’t been installed. Hot tubs are supposed to be hot. Construction is shoddy, cheap fixtures, doors and appliances. The walls are thin and they can hear everything in the halls and above/below their apartment. The WiFi seems unreliable, and my son had to go out and get his own Ethernet and mesh in order to get decent enough service to do his homework. I also learned that there is no mail service. I asked where is his mail and they couldn’t give me an answer. They are blaming USPS for not delivering keys. When I asked when would this get resolved I was told “we’re waiting for more info from the post office”. I’ve been sending my son grocery money since he moved in and his ballot! What happens if he doesn’t get his ballot before Election Day? The property management company has spent more time trying to get me to renew his lease than fixing the problems they have now which is definitely a sub-standard way of conducting business.
see morebeen "living" here for five weeks. There has been a scent on my floor and my floorboards are ruined. They haven't done anything to fix it yet and weren't professional either. My roommates, parents, and I tried reaching someone over the weekend and weekdays and no one picked up. It got so bad that the water started leaking to my downstairs neighbors and they still didn't take it seriously. The resident service is awful. It seems like they don't care. These were not ready to be moved into. They talk about the unique and luxury amenities they provide for us yet they are still closed and under "construction". Very unprofessional staff and unorganized. Construction was rushed and because of that everything was done poorly and the maintenance admitted that themselves. I have also tried to be very patient and understanding since it is a new apartment but this has just gone way too far. Worst place to live as a student. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
see moreus $3,000 within 20 days, for a first installment and first month’s rent it’s really disappointing to see so many things missing or not working properly. There is also workers constantly in our building as there is obviously much they haven't finished yet, which means longer elevator waits and construction noise during the day. Overall, just really sad to that as college students we have to deal with problems in what is supposed to be our home.
