parking garage? It's a nightmare. The incline is so steep, I swear it’s going to break your car if you even dare to drive in. And good luck if you have a truck — it’s practically impossible to fit. I ended up having to park on the street and hope my car wouldn’t get scratched to pieces. Honestly, this place is a joke. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else. They don’t care about fixing anything, and they certainly don’t care about your vehicle. Avoid at all costs.
see morewindow screens on any of the windows. None. Opening the window was inviting every bug and creature on Earth inside. The dip at the entrance to the parking garage was a true beast, it scraped the bottom off of any car that was less than 3 feet off the ground. I don't even want to know what terrible things it did to my undercarriage or alignment. Despite probably dozens of complaints from all the tenants, the management company only "fixed" the dip 6 months after I moved in. To this day, it still scrapes off the bottom of any car less than 3 feet off the ground. Over the year that I lived at South Pointe, the dishwasher broke, the garbage disposal in the sink broke, the stove broke, the dryer broke, the AC mysteriously stopped working for weeks at a time, and the toilet upstair flooded THREE times before they finally replaced it. The bathroom had black mold growing in the cracks between the tub and floor tile that management "fixed" by covering in layers of caulk. We had an infestation of mice that we had to take care of completely on our own. Every few weeks me and my roommates were filling out a new maintenance request. Despite this being "BYU Approved Housing", I had roommates smoking weed, getting drunk, and having very loud sex basically all the time. One of my roommates decided not to pay utilities, another decided to never ever clean anything, and another one kept a husky in her room 24/7. The stench from that room was vile and I'm 100% sure the dog was being neglected. By the time management tried to do anything about the dog, my roommate had gotten wind of it and made sure the dog was gone. The last few months I lived in these apartments the management company finally decided to do some renovations. They installed a TV, replaced the flooring, and repainted. The new additions were great, which is why I'm giving this place 1 star instead of 0. What was not so great was stepping in wet concrete on my way to the bathroom, having all my stuff covered in a fine mist of white paint, waking up from a dead sleep to the sound of hammering and machinery, and how the workers left ALL of the windows and doors open while they were working. Because there weren't any window screens, bugs came into the apartment in droves. Because it was mid July, the inside of the apartment was 80 degrees+ with the AC running. This made our electric bills ridiculously high. When I contacted management and asked them to pay for half of our last month's electric bill (we all vacated the apartment mid August) in addition to the $50 rent credit they gave us for the "inconvenience" we may have experienced during the renovations, they refused. Apparently, paying for the utilities used when no one was living in the apartment is unreasonable. This has honestly been the worst housing experience of my life. I've had to fight management tooth and nail every step of the way just to make living here bearable. I would not recommend this place even to someone I hate. If they don't give me my deposit back in full, that will be the last straw. I will take them to court.
see morewas shortsighted. The best way to contact the office, I've since learned, is through email. My roommates and I all receive fast responses to our emails. With a broader view of the place and some security measures being added recently I am happy to say that this is the best complex I've lived in in Provo. Management changed over very recently so I cannot speak to the other negative reviews on google, but it is a lovely apartment complex in my experience. They have a fast responding repair team (when contacted the right way) and new security measures in place for the resident's safety. Utilities and furniture are clean and modern. You certainly get enough space for the price point. Storage is abundant and large windows are placed throughout the apartment for lots of natural sunlight. There is underground parking provided and the air conditioning and heating systems are strong. It is pet friendly and I love to see all the apartment dogs. There is even an entire field/lawn in front of the apartment that is well groomed and offers much more space for dogs to play in than the typical apartment grass patch. The lawn has the double advantage of also leaving the space open for a beautiful view of the mountains from inside, the best view I've had. It is an older building so the floors do creak but everything in the building seems to function well, I'm especially a fan of the fast acting water heater. I would not recommend this complex to people with animal allergies, but to the many apartment residents of Provo with pets, this is an excellent choice of housing. *This is not a paid or promoted review, I am simply encouraged by my positive experience with the management here, it's refreshing to be listened to and I want to give this complex the accurate praise it deserves.
see moreget my car into their paid parking spots because your car bottoms out if you don't have more than a foot of empty space. Not great for the price. 0/10
