Kensington was my favorite complex! I stayed here for several semesters before I graduated and so have several of my siblings. The apartments are great for the price and you can tell that they work really hard to keep them in good condition. The wards are awesome! Lots of good

people there. I also liked that it was on the quieter side of campus where there’s not as much going on. Management was also kind and genuine. Overall just a great place!

I stayed here spring 2024. The price is fair for what you get. Women's apartments are newer so they have better amenities and are slightly more expensive, about $100 more than mens this semester. Management: 2/5 Brooke is amazing, very helpful and always available when you have a question. She provides her

personal number for emergencies and after hours questions. Everyone else I have talked to in the office has either been rude and/or extremely unhelpful. Amenities: 3/5 Kensington has a "lounge", study spaces, theatre room, fire pit, and grill. Other than the last two, everything is in the basement underneath one of the women's buildings. Took a while to get the grill out and its not in the best shape. Laundry: 1/5 No in-unit appliances, the men's laundry room is next to the managers office and the women's laundry is down in the lounge area. For the men's laundry it takes about 50 cents to wash and 50 cents to dry. This is a gamble though if the washer and dryer actually work. They seem to be maintained ok-ish, but I've run into the issue of coming back to grab my clothes and the washer has stained my whites with black streaks or the dryer has shredded my clothes. Ward: 4/5 The ward is nice. If you don't already have friends here it will be harder to fit in since it is vey niche but most people are friendly. The bishop is awesome, he's a very blunt guy and not afraid to hurt anyone's feelings. If you want someone to hold your hand and say you're perfect, go to another ward because the bishop here will not be your babysitter. Clean Checks: 0/5 Absolutely zero accountability!! This is the ideal complex if you don't know how to clean. The checks happen every two weeks and you sign up for one of six jobs. When you pass, your reward is a clean apartment. The punishment for failing the bi-weekly clean check is you are supposed to be checked every week until it's clean. This is according to the roommates that have lived here much longer than me. That has never happened. My apartment has failed almost every clean check because what's the point of cleaning if nothing bad happens when you don't? This means that unless you want to be the maid for all your roommates, the apartment stays dirty the entire semester. You can pay about $30 at the end of the semester to have your apartment cleaned for white glove instead of doing it yourself. Parking: 2/5 The parking lot is small, if you don't sign up early your chances of getting a spot are very slim. HOWEVER, this semester the parking lot was never full. In fact, the spots on the south end of the lot were never filled at any point during the semester. Because less people live here for spring, parking actually wasn't a problem. I signed up later and wasn't able to get a spot but once I say how empty the spaces were I tried to get a pass. I was told that they had already sold as much as they could and I would have to continue parking on the street. They need to have better accountability when it comes to selling parking passes because the people getting the passes are not using them. In addition, A/C is provided by a widow unit in the front room for men. Women's apartments have real A/C. A boiler room provides the men's building with hot water. Running out was never a big issue for me since it was spring semester but I hear it gets bad during the other two semesters when every room is occupied. Women's apartments have their own water heater. Like most older complexes in the area, the steps are concrete. They are often cracking and falling apart. Several steps were replaced near the end of this semester but they are a different thickness than the old ones. Without consciously thinking about where I am stepping, I always trip up and down the stairs now. At the beginning of the semester we all got a coupon for a free cookie at the cooking place and a coupon for a free load of laundry. The laundry coupon gets you $1.25 , just enough for two loads nearly dry. Also received a paper to make roommate goals for the semester with a reward of cinnamon rolls upon completion. Got a pizza instead.

I lived here for two semesters and the first semester I wasn't able to have my emotional support animal due to not being able to get a Doctor not in time. However I had a counselor fill it out and they said it needed to be a doctor to fill

out the note. I went and got that done and had to pay for it out of pocket with my own money due to the school not writing notes. I went to management and they said they couldn't except my doctor's note because I didn't talk to my doctor at the school. However there was no need to talk to him because that is not something they do. At this point they said they couldn't do it. They also said they couldn't accept it because I didn't have prior experience with the doctor. But my last doctor was a kid doctor growing up... so they said they couldn't except it. This was really hard to hear I know that if they would have actually worked with me it would have helped me a lot this semester. I stuggle with depression and anxiety really bad and my ESA would have helped me so much. I would only say this apt is good if you don't need an ESA animals because they are not good at allowing it even if you have a signed doctor note. I think it becomes something that annoys them... so they don't want to deal with, rather then worry about the actual human that lives there. They are more worrued about the apt state then the actual person in my opinion. They aren't very accommodating when it comes to this. I would just like to warn anyone who needs to have an animal for mental health that they are not good with this and I would recommend you go somewhere else that is better about this and actually accepts doctor notes.

I miss Kensington Manor so much! It’s hard to know where to live in Rexburg because there’s so many options and every complex seems to have their own personality. Kensington Manor is great for anyone! There’s a lot of younger students and still a lot of upper classmen! The apartment

layout makes it easy to make friends and have people over for game nights, movie nights, etc. The apts themselves are the perfect mix of affordable but INCREDIBLY homey! I’ve since graduated from BYU-I but I was at Kensington for most of my college time and absolutely loved it and I miss it so much everyday!! The wards are all FANTASTIC and the location is perfect for any class- right at the middle of the hill so you don’t have to walk too far up or go too far down. I can’t recommend it enough! Other reviews talk about only having 1 fridge or one towel rack, but listen. There are complexes that have all the amenities you could ask for but the great atmosphere, fun and loving people, great wards, location to campus, and cozy apartments at Kensington are unmatched. You just have to know what you’re looking for, but Kensington is the best!
